But I figured my truck was good for more than just hauling junk…it could be a mobile billboard!
For a few hundred dollars, I built plywood sides on the box of the truck and spray painted our phone number on the side. The next day, like magic, the phones started to ring!!
This tactic was so successful, it’s become the cornerstone of how we market today.
We call it “Parketing”. So, how do you win at Parketing?
Here’s my 3 step guide ;)
1) Start a business
2) Wrap a car or truck with your logo. Make it BIG and keep it to 2 or 3 details.
People should look at your car for 2 seconds and be able to remember:
a) your name and 2) how you made them feel.
People will tell you to add more details - your phone number, your unique selling proposition, your website, your tagline or mission statement. Resist the temptation!
3) Park in a high traffic area. Try out a few locations to see what gets people’s attention.
Repetition is so important in marketing, so don’t be worried about leaving your car in the same place for a while.
